WHAT IS NORMAL WATER PRESSURE?

50 to 70 PSI is considered Normal Water Pressure.  If your water pressure is running over 80 PSI, you are required to have a pressure regulating valve. Constant pressure above 80 PSI can severely damage appliances and fixtures. Contact Serieux Plumbing today for a free check of your PSI.

HOW LONG DO WATER HEATERS LAST?

Most water heaters will last approximately 8 to 12 years. Signs to look for that indicate your water heater should be replaced include the presence of rust colored water or visible corrosion on the outside of your pipes. Serieux Plumbing recommends you do a visual inspection once every 3 months, and we are happy to do a free inspection of your water heater if you suspect an issue.

HOW DO YOUR ESTIMATES WORK?

We offer ALL customers a no obligation, on-site estimate. This assures you know exactly what the charge will be, what service will be provided, and what warranty would apply BEFORE you commit to any work being done.

HOURLY RATES VS FIXED PRICES

Serieux Plumbing believes that when companies bill hourly, 1) their customers don’t know how much a job will cost before starting and 2) customers cannot trust the work won’t take longer than it should, or that it might include unnecessary work to prolong billable time.  Serieux Plumbing is dedicated to providing fixed prices and detailed explanations of project demands prior to beginning any work, so you know exactly what to expect before we begin.

WHY DO SEWER LINES CLOG?

Typically, a sewer line will clog because of cracks in the line. Cracks can occur when the earth shifts, putting stress on the old pipes. As water leaks out of the cracks, roots  are given room to enter the pipe, therein, clogging the line. Eventually, the cracks can also cause the pipe to collapse.

DO I HAVE A MAIN LINE CLEAN OUT?

If you are unsure, we are happy to come out to do a Main Line Clean Out check free of charge. If you do not already have a main line clean out, we do recommend installing one. While alternative methods to snake a line through a vent in the roof or through a toilet flange are options, they can be much more expensive and often less effective.

WHAT IF MY TOILET BACKS UP INTO MY SHOWER?

Typically if a toilet is backing up into a shower, it means the main line is clogged. Since the water can't go down the clogged line, it is then forced to back up and out of the lowest point in the house, which is often the shower. The easiest way to remedy this is to have a clean out on your sewer, providing easy access to clear the blockage.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN MY TOILET BUBBLES?

If you are running water down one of your sinks and you hear your toilet begin to bubble, this is an indication that the main sewer line may have a blockage. Give Serieux Plumbing a call today to have this issue properly diagnosed.
